The Mom and Tot Class is a class for two year olds (must be 2 years old by Sept. 1) and an adult (Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers). These classes meet on Monday or Friday mornings, 9:00am-10:15am. Since many toddlers have limited language skills, they learn mainly through investigation and sensory experiences. They are very egocentric people, unable as yet to consider others and their ways of viewing the world. They are in the process of developing trust and security in their parents, primary caregivers and other adults before they can reach out to other children and adults. Through adult involvement that models and encourages cooperative play, and the presentation of parent education topics, trust and security between the adult and child is developled as well as language and social skills.
