BILLING
The Extended Care Program operates on a "pay-after" system of payment. You can choose to be billed either Weekly or Monthly for your Extended Care charges. Prompt payment along with the Payment-Due slip is expected. A late fee of $10.00 per week will be added to all balances not paid within a week of receiving the bill. Since billing is dependent on accurate records of when your child (ren) attends, it is vital that the time a child comes and goes is recorded. There is a minimum charge of one hour.

CLOTHING AND BELONGINGS
Please mark all outer clothing and belongings (school bags, lunch boxes, folders, etc.) with your child's name. Items left at the end of the day will go to the school's lost and found location.
GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES
1. Children must not arrive before 7:00 a.m. and must be signed in by the parent, guardian, or person designated by the parent or guardian.
2. Children must have permission from extended care workers to leave the the extended care room at any time.
3. Loitering in or around the school will not be tolerated.
4. Parents, guardian, or the person designated by parent of guardian to pick up the children must sign them out.
5. All rules established by Trinity Lutheran's Christian Day School Board governing the day school will also apply to the extended care program.
These rules are outlined in the Parent Handbook.
DISCIPLINE
Students are expected to respect other students and the Extended Care staff and to use language appropriate in a Christian setting. Behavior which is unsafe for others or self will not be allowed, nor will intentional destruction of equipment. To maintain order and the safety of all children, supervisors will use behavior modification techniques such as modeling, positive reinforcement, time outs and redirection. If these procedures are insufficient, written notification will be given to parents. When repeated notifications do not result in acceptable behavior by the student, we will set up a time to meet with the parents to work out an appropriate behavior plan between the school and home for that student. If the plan does not work for the student, the parents will need to find alternative child care.

EMERGENCY CLOSING OF SCHOOL
In the event that a decision to close the school occurs after you have left your child at Extended Care, you will be notified by phone as soon as possible. Care will be provided until arrangements can be made for you or someone listed as an emergency contact on the school records to pick up your child.
HEALTH GUIDELINES
Children will not be admitted to Extended Care on a given day if they are determined ill by the staff member who greets them. If children show signs of conditions, such as pink eye or a rash, they will be admitted only if a physician's note indicates that it is non-contagious. Children will be sent home if, in the opinion of the staff, they are too ill to remain. Vomiting, diarrhea, or a temperature over 100 degrees are reasons that require a parent to pick up their child at once. A child's temperature should remain normal for 24 hours before returning to school or Extended Care.
HOMEWORK
Extended Care provides a quiet room for students to do homework. We do not provide one-on-one tutoring for children with learning problems. If that is the needed, we will suggest that you contact someone who provides that service. Using this time for homework is suggested, but not required.
HOURS
Extended Care is available from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. during the school year. It is closed for major holidays and any day the children are not in attendance at school. If parents pick up their children after 6:00 p.m., a late fee of $5 for every 5 minutes will be charged.
SIGN IN/SIGN OUT
Parents are required to sign in and sign out your child(ren) when using Extended Care. Extended Care may only release your child to you, or someone you have designated as an emergency contact on the school records. If someone other than your emergency contact will be signing out your child, you must write a note or call the school office in advance of that day.
IF YOU CANNOT PICK UP YOUR CHILD
In the event you cannot pick up your child, please call the school at 708-839-1444. Also, please inform the person picking up your child(ren) that we will ask to see a photo identification of them before discharging your child.
LUNCH/SNACKS
Parents may pack snacks and a lunch, including drinks. Sack lunches or lunch boxes must be labeled with your child's name. The school milk program is available to Extended Care regular users. Check in the school office to sign up. When PTL offers hot lunch, it is available to Extended Care children with the same advance payment requirements as the rest of the school.
MEDICAL POLICIES
Medications that need to be given regularly while a child is in Extended Care will be held in the school office. A medication form is to be on file in the school office for any medications given regularly during Extended Care, including the child's name, the date and dosage instructions. For safety reasons, Extended Care supervisors will hold medications being brought to school.
