for the week of 12/28/08 Back to "Bulletin Announcements" page >
Please pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, and for all people according to their needs:
Lord God, heavenly Father, we remember before you...
...those who are sick, recovering, in the hospital, or have other needs...
...those who are homebound, especially...
...those celebrating their baptismal birthdays this week...
...those celebrating their wedding anniversaries this week...
...for the youth of our congregation...
...for the leadership of our congregation...
We pray for renewal and commitment to the study of Your Holy Word. We especially thank You for our Sunday School teachers and staff and for everyone attending Bible study.
Let us pray for our country, its leaders, especially our president, and those who serve under them and for those who have served and are serving in the armed forces, especially... We pray for all pastors, teachers, and servants of the Church throughout the world and for all missionaries and evangelists, especially... LCMS World Missions
Jewish Mission Work – Dec. 28-31 Remember Jewish mission work as you pray: 28. for the Detroit and Florida-Georgia branches of LIJE, as they work to reach out to Jewish people in their communities. 29. with thanks for the formation of LIJE in 1981 to intentionally carry the Gospel message to the Jewish people in the United States and for the LCMS leadership that God called to make this happen. 30. that Jewish people who have become followers of Jesus Christ would not lose faith, even as they face rejection by friends and family members, but would keep their focus on their eternal inheritance of life with Him in heaven. 31. that all who actively work in Jewish outreach would not be discouraged by resistance to the Gospel, but would expectantly hope in God’s power to break down all barriers, so that more Jewish people would know Him through Jesus Christ.
VIETNAM - Jan. 1-3 Remember LCMS work in Vietnam when you pray: 1. with thanks for the people of Vietnam, whom God has created beautifully. Pray that they would see the great love their Creator has for them. 2. with thanksgiving for the great progress, economic and political, that Vietnam has made in the past decade, but also pray for the long road ahead, especially for those who still suffer in poverty and disease. 3. for LCMS World Mission volunteers, Michael Tan, James Rush, Melanie Dunn, and Carl Myrhe, as they teach English in universities. Pray that they would form significant and meaningful relationships with their students while providing a valuable service. Also, pray that they will be a model for teaching methods, so that Vietnam can improve its teaching methodology. Pray that God will raise up more long-term volunteers for future years, so that LCMS World Mission can expand its service to the Vietnamese people.
